Charles Gregory (Greg) Franks - Co-Owner
Original owner of East Coast Transportation, has more than 20 years of experience owning, operating and managing transportation companies. Greg’s experience includes working for Carey International, investing and managing a real estate firm, East Coast Land Investments, and founding a performance car company, Driveline Performance Cars, which has grossed more than $1 million in sales. Greg is a native of Jacksonville Beach, and was honored by INC. magazine as owning one of the fastest growing private companies in America, awarded the JAX Chamber’s Business Person of the Year, and Florida Governor’s Sterling Award of Quality.
Greg previously owned East Coast Transportation from 1990 to 2000 when he sold the business to Carey. Greg and Mike joined forces in 2008 to resurrect East Coast Transportation, which is the leading chauffeured transportation provider in Northeast Florida servicing all of the major resorts and several corporate clients.
Mike Sobol (Co-Owner)
Mike has more than 20 years of experience owning, operating and managing transportation companies. Mike’s experience includes working for Carey International as the South Regional Vice President of Operations, where he oversaw five offices in the southeast. Mike is from Hawaii and has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Florida in Finance. He is a board member with the National Limousine Association and the 1999 Winner of the Florida Governor’s Sterling Award of Quality.
Eric Markley (Chief Financial Officer)
When once asked “Where are you from?” Eric truthfully replied “Born and raised in the US Navy.” Like so many others that the Navy has brought to Jacksonville, Eric decided that Jacksonville was the best place to live. Eric has been “CFOing” in the local transportation industry for over twenty years. From strategic planning, financial analysis and budgeting to computer systems & software design and the TQM principles that earned the Florida Sterling Award, his deep knowledge and experience have had a profound impact on East Coast Transportation. Some of his colleagues liken him to the Oracle at Delphi. Leisure activities include a deep interest in current affairs, classic British automobiles, and the National Hockey League.

Candace Van Kalleveen (Operations Specialists)
Candace joined East Coast Transportation in the Fall of 2011 as Operations Specialist. However, her talents are many, and her 14 years of experience in the industry has helped in her current position, where she is responsible for working as a sort of “concierge” to provide a liaison with hotels, airlines, clients and many other organizations. From Transportation Coordinator to driving executives, to running the transportation needs for groups from multi-million dollar companies, Ms. Van Kalleveen has truly participated in every side of the transportation and hospitality industry. Candace has proved that she is great at getting clients from A to B and making sure they enjoy their experience.
Tarik Yuce (Group Sales Specialists)
Tarik has been at East Coast Transportation since September of 2014. With over 10 years of experience in hospitality and transportation Tarik has moved from driving to logistics and logistics to Sales and Operations. He’s been in Group Sales since the beginning of 2015 and handles Corporate Accounts and special events with City of Jacksonville such as Jazz Festival and Sea & Sky Spectacular. Mr. Yuce has studied Hospitality in Montreux, Switzerland and Manchester. He graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with a Bachelor degree in Hospitality Management. He is married and has a beautiful daughter. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends when not working.
Josh has worked in hospitality since 2008 and at East Coast Transportation since 2012. As a Group Sales Specialists, he works tirelessly to ensure each meeting planner’s program goes smoothly. His attention to detail keeps each aspect of the ground transportation in perfect coordination with the events programming and destination services.
Samantha Smith (Resort Group Sales Specialists)
Samantha has been part of the East Coast Transportation team since the Fall of 2012 as the Resort Group Sales Specialist. Her expertise in the ground transportation for the hospitality business has shined in assisting many meeting planners. 17 years in the business, she is experienced with the knowledge on how to best coordinate specific transportation needs designed for each group holding meetings and events in North East Florida. Samantha works very closely with the sales and event managers at the resorts to ensure a smooth plan and process for ground transportation needed. She is responsible for the beginning to end process of all ground transportation needs for the resorts and meeting planners. Not only a liaison to the hotels and assisting the meeting planners, Samantha has truly participated in every side of the transportation and hospitality industry. She is very professional, detailed oriented and easy to work with. Samantha has proved that she aims for complete success for her clients experience with ground transportation.
Dale Thompson (Accounting)
A recent transplant from the state of Indiana and a Purdue Graduate. That would make Dale a Hoosier by birth and a Boilermaker by the grace of God. A man with deep faith in God and grandfather of 3. Dale handles the day to day duties in the accounting department. If you should have an accounting question, Dale is the person with whom you will speak. When Dale is not busy with the daily accounting chores, he and his wife of 35 years are likely on the beach, visiting their children and grandchildren in Indiana or making plans to visit their children and grandchildren in Indiana, or perhaps making a trip to Lake Buena Vista to visit the “Most Magical Place on Earth”, most likely with his 3 year old grandson.
