On behalf of the International Visitors Corps of Jacksonville, I would like to thank you for your involvement with our recent Foreign Service Nationals Training participants. The Foreign Service Institute sponsors the training of these participants and is also the Federal Government's primary training institution for officers and support personnel of the U.S. foreign affairs community, preparing American diplomats and other professionals to advance U.S. foreign affairs interests overseas and in Washington.

This program would not be possible without the dedication of people like you, who volunteer time and knowledge to these individuals. I hope you gained a greater perspective of the importance and benefits of citizen diplomacy during your meeting.

Familiarizing ourselves with the culture of citizens around the world is essential for the progress of the United States. Social interactions are the first step in developing relationships and world understanding. The importance of citizen diplomacy has recently been addressed by Defense Secretary Robert Gates as he urged for "a dramatic increase in spending on the civilian instruments of national security," among others, is diplomacy. He further expressed that "soft power" tools including diplomacy are necessary to defend the interest of the United States.

In meeting with these participants, you have truly played a role as a Citizen Diplomat by extending friendship, knowledge and culture to these international guests. I am grateful for the time and expertise you and your colleagues offered and look forward to working with you in the near future.

I have to say that this is the first time I have received comments from the guests on the ground transportation. They were all positive and touched upon the car service, on time, the meet and greet service, and also the drivers courtesy and knowledge. If ever in the area again I will certainly use your group again and I will absolutely refer you to my colleagues and other planners.

We were very pleased with the bus and the service from East Coast Transportation. We were especially pleased with our driver, Bill Metcalf. He fit right in, seemed to enjoy all of us and our activities, and was a good driver and very thoughtful. It was a great trip and we all loved the bus.

East Coast Transportation definitely performed beyond our expectations. Not only was each and every Sedan, Van, and Mini Bus in immaculate condition, but the drivers were courteous, well dressed, and surely an asset to East Coast's marketing team! For example, when I arrived into JAX, our driver was more of a Historic Tour Guide, providing facts and history about Jacksonville in a most entertaining (and not intrusive) manner. And, during the entire week I noticed that every driver was in communication with Valet and seemed to know each by name, giving me a sense of security knowing that if I wasn't available, our speakers were in good hands.

Steve and I want to thank you and your staff for the fantastic service they provided for our wedding on March 7th. We had a fabulous day, thanks, in part, to th great shuttle service. The transportation was seamless. Your staff was courteous and professional. And we really appreciated being able to not worry about this one aspect of our wedding day. We have passed on a glowing recommendation to Aurora at the Ribault Club, so that she can recommend your company to future brides and grooms.
