Florida Times-Union Features East Coast In the Paper for Jacksonville Limo Services

The Florida Times-Union features East Coast Transportation in the paper today showcasing the company’s growing Jacksonville limo services and increased business during THE PLAYERS.

“The Players Championship brings big crowds to the First Coast and teeing up to cash in those crowds at the annual golf tournament is Greg Franks, owner of a growing limousine and chauffeur company.

“It’s probably our biggest event of the year for special sporting events in this area,” said Franks, co-owner of East Coast Transportation, which has a fleet of 30 luxury and large passenger capacity vehicles.

Franks said the crowds drawn by the Players golf tournament are different than those brought in by most others sporting and entertainment events, with a lot of “corporate people who want to wine and dine clients” and go out to dinner after the day’s round of competition.

The company charges from $78 an hour for a luxury sedan with a chauffeur up to $145 an hour for their largest stretch limousine, which can hold up to 20 people. The drive from Jacksonville International Airport to Ponte Vedra Beach, where the Players, can last 45 minutes to about an hour in heavy traffic.

“Sometimes people plan their vacations just around [the Players],” Franks said. “Everybody’s alert. They [employees] are looking forward to it. They’re working long hours, but tips are part of it as well. It’s a pretty nice clientele of people and it’s kind of a fun environment.”

While the Players may be the peak of service and cash flow for East Coast Transportation, Franks said the company does well throughout the year, with Jacksonville Jaguar football game weekends, the annual Florida-Georgia game and a few other sporting events. The mainstay is companies shuttling in potential clients for various meetings and conventions.”

East Coast Team Member Wins Presidents Award from NFHLA

On February 26, the North Florida Hotel & Lodging Association (NFHLA) awarded East Coast Transportation’s Howard Reichbach with the prestigious President’s Award.

The President’s Award is granted to the nominee with a superior story and history of excellent customer service. Of all 158 nominations received, the 2013 President’s Award was awarded to Howard Reichbach from East Coast Transportation.

“He looks the part of a professional chauffeur, always neat and meticulously attired, with a friendly demeanor and understanding of business etiquette. These qualities are hard to teach or instill and obviously play a very important part in the overall customer experience we strive to deliver. He is the most requested chauffeurs from a long list of regular customers. He is considered as one of our upper echelon chauffeurs to be specially assigned to special clients such as VIPs, Meeting Planners and those on Site Visits,” said Mike Sobel and Greg Franks, managing partners at East Coast Transportation who nominated Howard.

Examples of his outstanding customer service include: an elderly couple who are customers, live in a senior retirement community, where on Thanksgiving Day he delivered a complete dinner to them. Another customer who was recovering from knee surgery mentioned to him that her windshield wipers needs to be replaced, the next day this winner purchased new wiper blades and personally went to her residence and installed them.

The North Florida Hotel & Lodging Association announced the Recognition of Service Excellence (ROSE) Award winners at the 5th annual event, held at the Renaissance World Golf Village Resort.
